Luxe Launch 2015: Modern Malbec

First Pick Planning and Butterfly Floral & Event Design created this gorgeous table called “Modern Malbec” for our Luxe Launch OC held at The Colony House. With chairs from Revelry Event Designers and plates and chargers from Line 204 Events, this table is a beauty to look at. The team used our Bamboo Lattice Grey Linen and Slate Pebble Beach Napkins for their design. Thank you  Studio EMP for these lovely images!

We have an exclusive interview with Jen Bergmark of First Pick Planning and Inna Savluk of Butterfly Floral & Event Design conducted by Rhonda Couchigian of Rayce PR. See below for the full interview and photos.

What was your inspiration?

Our inspiration was the bamboo lattice linen which was gray and white. The linen was very geometric. To play off the round and diamond shapes, we went with the Revelry Dubai and Buenos AIres Chairs. The names of the chairs struck me because I’m Argentinian. I thought why not play off of that, so we had little tiny details to have fun with the name. Modern Malbec was a play off of an Argentinian wine. We wanted to keep it clean. Inna did a fabulous job bringing a circular element to the top of florals and then coming down with hydrangea balls.

Tell us about that floral design.

Well we wanted to stay in a modern field yet romantic. We tried to mix modern and romance so that is how we created this beautiful round structure and brought in more romance at the bottom. We wanted to bring in grey, silver and metallics. Our plates are a combination of that- round Nicole Miller plates that I found and the chargers from 204 Events. They have a nice detail on them. Vintage wine glasses that have a silver rim on them are paired with geometric modern champagne flutes and wine flutes from 204 Events.

Who is your target bride?

Definitely a younger more fun and more modern bride and couple that isn’t afraid to take a chance. A couple that likes the “Wow” factor. The height of the florals is definitely a statement piece. The client that wants the room to have height is our target.

What’s your favorite element on the table?

I really love the height. I think a lot of clients are afraid to do tall flowers, but I love the height of the flowers. I think it complements the patterned linen and circular shape of the flowers.
