“Gretel Ties the Knot” as originally featured on California Wedding Day:
We are obsessing over this week’s Hansel and Gretel inspired styled-wedding shoot. The shoot’s theme picks right back up in the forest where the children’s book left off as the story follows Gretel, now grown up into a beautiful woman, down the aisle in her wedding elopement to her handsome groom, Frederich. The couple share a private wedding celebration in the woods where rustic meets high fashion in this modern day fairytale.
Beautiful sweets and desserts paid homage to Hansel and Gretel’s almost-devastating demise in a delightful display by Canyon Catering. Adding to the mouth-watering displays of fun, Mix Bake Decorate Cake Shop designed a gorgeous two-tier cake with a hand-painted scene from the story of a clearing in the woods leading to the children’s cabin, topped off with two adorably plum birds as cake toppers.
Charming touches were all over the shoot, from the bride’s minor accessory changes, easing her bridal look from day to night, to the woodsy, hand-crafted bar setup with signature cocktails presented in old-fashioned glassware by Sol Bartending. And thanks to Hues of Ego, the groom’s suspenders and the bride’s eye-popping red veil were made one-of-a-kind specifically for the shoot.
Lake Arrowhead and the Pine Rose Cabins were absolutely the perfect destination to play out Gretel’s dreamy wedding and we adore each and every delicious touch.Cheers to their happily ever after!
