unnamed-1

Jennifer Naylor Catering and Special Events teamed up with Brown Paper Design to create this unique design titled “Mas Que Nada” or “More Than Anything” for our Luxe Launch LA at Bel-Air Bay Club. Using our Cliff Dwelling Adobe linen, Jennifer brought in rentals from Revelry Event DesignA Rental ConnectionLine 204 Events and Classic Party Rentals to complete the look. Dish Wish provided the perfect chinaware that paired with our Tan Burlap napkins and Tribal pillows. Thank you Krista Mason Photography for these images!

We have an exclusive interview with Jennifer Naylor of Jennifer Naylor Catering and Special Events conducted by Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events. See below for the full interview and photos:

Now, you are obviously coming from a very different place. You are bringing the experience of food and beverage to your table, but also decor. Where did that start with you?

I was completely drawn to this linen called Cliff Dwelling in Adobe. I’ve spent some time in Oaxaca, my team is from Oaxaca, and this linen definitely has this Aztec-Mexican vibe to it. Well, I’m from Malibu, so I love wood, wrought iron, natural elements and an overall casual vibe.  I went to school in Dallas, so I know this designer who has all these wrought iron pieces. Yes, it absolutely influenced the menu. I wanted to do Oaxacan mole and the tequila drink we called the “Malibu Paloma” made with locally made Malibu honey.

Tell me about the vendors you used.

I loved exploring all of the catalogs and it all went from there. We meant Laura from Dish Wish and she’s great. She had so many Aztec and cool plates to choose from. Brown Paper Design, who we worked with before, have a very relaxed and natural aesthetic that works with what we do. We used a farm table from A Rental Connection so that just works. Revelry had this mirror and we were just like “Boom”- we had to have it!

What is the significance of your table name?

“Mas Que Nada” is a Sergio Mendes song and it means “More than anything.” It just seemed like fun!
