Nicole Alexandra Designs collaborated with Art With Nature to create this stunning table design titled “Nuits Des Paume.” Revelry Event Design and Found Vintage Rentals provided the gorgeous chairs and pieces you see surrounding the table on our Giana Indigo Blue Linen. Dish Wish provided perfect chinaware to match the table as well as stationery by Copper Willow Paper Studio. Thank you Krista Mason Photography and Weintraub Photography for these beautiful images of our Luxe Launch LA taken at Bel-Air Bay Club
We have an exclusive interview with Nicole Alexandra of Nicole Alexandra Designs conducted by Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events. See below for the full interview and photos.
Where did your inspiration come from?
Honestly, it was from the linen itself. When I saw the indigo blue velvet, it reminded me of the south of France and then of a midnight blue. I wanted it to feel like a midnight blue, like if you have a great group of friends and it’s midnight in Paris in the south of France and you’re sitting down to this beautiful abundant table, and you have desserts, cheese, breads, wines and it’s a big party.
It’s all about picturing the experience of the guest.
It’s true. I just felt like it was that ambiance. Like you’re sitting down, and it’s not necessarily like Marie Antoinette, because I didn’t want to take it in that direction. I wanted it more modern, with a really amazing Midnight feast with a lot of decadence and abundance. That was the inspiration.
The mixed medium of the furs, leathers, and chairs of the table changes the viewpoint of the table all together.
That’s typically how I design. I always love to have a natural element that threads through instead of it being unnatural material. I love to design with natural elements and incorporating that into the design and making sure there is a balance.
It’s gorgeous. I just love this entire design.
It all stems from this luxe and yummy linen. The color is so pretty and really everything stemmed from there. I worked with Kim from Art by Nature and she kept it organic and beautiful. Again, it’s not symmetrical but coordinated in the overall look. It definitely has dimension and diversity and I think that’s what makes it special and fun. A little Bohemian but still elegant
