Kimery Events and Empty Vase came together to design this gorgeous table they called “Plums and Pewter.” Designed specifically for our Luxe Launch Sherwood held at Sherwood Country Club, this table is modern and bold and uses our Metallic Plum Chevron linen with our Metallic Weave Aubergine Napkins. They brought in rentals and decor from Revelry Event Design and Classic Party Rentals to complete their look. Thank you Michelle Lacson Photography for these beautiful images.

We have an exclusive interview with Kimery Sherwood of Kimery Events and Yvonne Van Pelt of Empty Vase conducted by Lara Burnap- editor of California Wedding Day. See below for the full interview and photos.

What drew you to this particular linen?

We both gravitated to the modern look, and something different and bolder. We definitely wanted it to stand out because we knew people were going to go for more pastels for the springtime, but we wanted to go masculine, bold and elegant. I know it’s not that masculine in any way, but we definitely wanted to bring in a touch of boldness and drama. The vase is a really dramatic moment. Yvonne’s inspiration was definitely behind this container. Everything revolved around this initial container.

So that was the initial inspiration you built off?

That and the linen. The linen was perfect.

Tell us about the different flowers you brought in?

We have the vanda orchids which are the deep purple at the top, and then the calla lilies, so the vandas came in from Holland as well as those callas.

And you stood it on a bamboo pedestal?

Yes, a horsetail covered pedestal so it wasn’t resting on the table.

Tell us about all the different details you brought in on the place settings?

We kind of went in to Classic Party Rentals and just pulled a bunch of things and played around and said this is it. The black, we feel, really sets everything off with the LL napkins and the pop of color from Yvonne. Chairs were perfect – the circles play off the chevron print and the textures work. IF you mix too many textures it’s too much, so we really wanted to keep it clean. The silverware pattern mimics the linen and we really had so much fun designing this.
