For the launch party of the new Luxe Linen line, wedding planners and event designers were paired with florists and assigned one of the new linens in order to create an original tablescape. “When I received my fabric swatch for my table, it reminded me of my recent trip to Barcelona,” says the planner. “You can’t think Barcelona and Modernisme without thinking Gaudi, so his architecture was another influence in the design and our chandelier was reflective of his hanging chain models that he created for his most iconic buildings.”

Contrasting the bold darkness of the gold-and-black “Mirage Onyx” linen were vibrant florals in a variety of shades. Amber-hued roses, fuchsia sweet peas, blue delphiniums, and orange orchids were among the blooms that filled the tablescape. Tapered periwinkle candles, ensconced in hurricanes, were placed throughout the blossoms. Gold chargers and flatware tied in with the linens, while silk napkins in a deep navy style – named “Indigo Giana” – provided a contrast. Modern and naturalistic elements were combined in the bright blue rock-like pieces that formed the place cards.

For the model who acted as the bride of the setting, the consultant was inspired by Beyoncé’s look during her performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards. He created a headdress with a sunburst appearance to allude to that moment, while the model wore a mostly sheer gown with a nude underlay.

The Luxe Linen launch party provides designers with an unusual challenge, which is valued by the professionals. “Being given the linen was a great process because you really had to create something from that swatch of fabric,” explains the planner. “You couldn’t come up with a design first and choose the linen to speak to that design. The linen truly dictated the direction I was going to take.”

This red and gold wedding featured on Inside Weddings is just stunning! Coordinated by The Perfect Fairytale at Four Seasons Beverly Hills, this red and gold wedding was simply magical! Kim and Ty chose traditional red and gold wedding colors for a new concept on a Chinese wedding.

“Kim and Ty chose tradition over trend by forgoing a “first look,” instead electing to wait until the bride walked down the aisle to see each other. Following the pronouncement of husband and wife, guests entered the ballroom for the reception. Each attendee was greeted at their place setting with a cake pop that matched the red-and-gold décor of the space. While every table was topped with a centerpiece of red roses, they alternated between low arrangements and tall ones held aloft by grand, gilded stands. Bullion chargers were paired with crimson linens to complete the regal look of the evening. A graceful five-tiered cake was displayed prominently and adorned with fresh red roses – the flower of the day.”

“Certain design concepts have the ability to transport us to another time and place – they evoke in us a sense of wonder that allows us to leave our current setting and take on an entirely new identity. When Alexandra Rembac of Sterling Engagements began to go about creating a concept for a wedding tablescape for Luxe Linen’s 2016 launch party, she was immediately struck by one of the line’s newest additions. “Our inspiration for the table began with our linen, Circle Dance,” says Alexandra. “I loved the pattern and the metal sheen layered on it. The circles and the design within them, to me, felt very Greek or Moroccan, and immediately whisked me off to the Mediterranean Coast.” With such a clean, crisp space to work with, Alexandra decided to stretch her creativity to create an artful design fit for an offbeat couple. After selecting a large pair of painted angel wings to hang over the tablescape, Alexandra and her team came up with the title “Dancing Angels along the Mediterranean” for their concept.”

“When building a table for the launch party that celebrated Luxe Linen’s 2016 line, Grace Song of Charis Events & Design wanted to start with a solid base. “The inspiration began when we fell in love with two of their newest linens – ‘Creation Natural’ and ‘Cashmere Iridescence Dupionique,’” Grace explains. “[They created] a very romantic texture that played a tremendous role in our tabletop.” She notes that her team desired to match the elegance and historical concept of the venue while adding a bit of glamour into the design. From this idea sprang forth the name of the tablescape, “Memoirs of Romance,” meant to represent its propensity to linger in a viewer’s memory.”

“For Luxe Linen‘s 2016 launch party for their new line, several stunning tablescapes were created by pairings of well-regarded wedding planners and florists. Natalie Good of A Good Affair worked with Little Hill Floral Designs to create the stunning tabletop they entitled “Hibiscus Glitz,” named for the elegant “Hibiscus” linen in blush from Luxe Linen used to dress the table. The creative team expertly paired “Blush Iridescence Dupionique” napkins with the ballet pink linen featuring a gold floral print that manages to be oversized, yet subtle.”

This styled shoot designed by Sara Holland of At Your Door Events at the Ebell of Long Beach was full of unexpected combinations and a bold, beautiful design! As originally featured on Inside Weddings:

“For this shoot, I wanted to create inspiration for couples that don’t fit the model of what is ‘traditional,’” explains Sara Holland of At Your Door Events. “I love that our couple, Geneva and Jen, have tattoos and fashion-forward hairstyles… but most importantly I love that they have a deep connection to each other and represent so much of what is new and exciting in our wedding industry.”

2 Luxe_LInen_Ebell_Inside_Weddings7

Sara selected the historic Ebell of Long Beach as the canvas for her study of the unexpected. When touring the popular venue, she noticed the beautifully varied tiles of the courtyard floor. A black-and-white sample with geometric shapes caught her eye and provided the foundation for the celebration’s palette with additional touches of red and gold. The pattern was also reflected in several details. Lastly, the edgy “Ride or Die” theme was carried out from the stationery to the dessert treats. The invitation suite encompassed all these elements and offered a glimpse of the forthcoming event.

The intimate ceremony was held in the grand ballroom that boasts lofty ceilings, as well as hand-stenciled beams and crown molding. Geneva was clad in a haute ebony gown with a cowl back and chapel train covered in appliqués and accented with beading and sequins. Her black diamond pendant necklace echoed her round stone engagement ring. She held a bold, earthy bouquet of crimson blooms – including peonies and orchids – and greenery. Jen was elegantly attired in an ivory blazer with leather lapels and cropped pants. The ruby pendant around her neck lent a dash of color, while the custom-made double ring of black gold and row of rubies on her right hand added a “cool factor.”

The couple exchanged vows in front of an exquisitely carved fireplace draped with foliage. A 24-foot-tall mirror on the wall above reflected the romantic scene. Clusters of candles in gilded vessels glowed at their feet and a crystal chandelier encased in a spherical gilded frame was suspended overhead.

The festivities moved to the adjacent courtyard, where natural light streamed through the skylight. Geometric-shaped place cards – a motif also repeated in menus – were arranged on a marble-topped vintage table. With a verdant wall and fountain as a backdrop, an ornate settee was paired with the sweetheart table adorned with leafy garlands, verdure, and crimson blooms in matte black and gilded vases. A rouge cymbidium orchid was the finishing touch to each stunning place setting composed of an ornate ebony charger, china with a ruby floral pattern, and a garnet glass plate.

A rich variety of desserts and wedding cake were displayed on a gilded Art-Deco stand. The delectable pastries included cake pops with beautiful sugar flower accents, cupcakes, chocolate cake pops dusted with gold, geometric and onyx jeweled treats, and frosted cookies bearing either the tile design or the “Ride or Die” motto. Gilded geometric shapes cascaded along the layers of the bridal confection, which donned different styles: the tile pattern, matte ebony, and white with gold brush strokes.

The creative teams of Sterling Engagements and Shawna Yamamoto Event Design took a step back in time for their “1920s Vintage Seaside Romance” styled shoot. “We wanted to design something that stands up to today’s design standards, [while embracing] the vintage elements,” they explain. The historic Bel-Air Bay Club guided the ambience of the event, which featured a classic color scheme inspired by the selected linen.

Constructed by Alphonzo Bell from 1927 to 1928 along the shores of Pacific Palisades, the property was intended to provide a beautiful place of leisure for prominent local citizens, socialites, and Hollywood celebrities. These were the individuals for whom this event was staged. Thus, seating assignments, indicated by names written with navy ink in elegant calligraphy upon sand-toned paper seashells, placed Mr. Bell at the head of the table. The Talmadge sisters – silent film actresses – and Douglas Fairbanks were also among the shoot’s honored guests.

Windows offering views of the Pacific Ocean were dressed with breezy ivory fabric gathered by bouquets of green and white flowers. Vanilla hydrangeas were lined on the low windowsill below. To anchor the essence of romance, a sculptural swirl centerpiece composed of a variety of pearl blooms, including hydrangeas, lilacs, stephanotis, anemones, and fringed tulips, started at one end of the table – dressed with an opulent ivory, textured tablecloth with gold threads – and ended at the other. Three small teardrop-shaped, beaded glass chandeliers accented the floral piece. Soft lighting emitted from taper candles in cylindrical candleholders and votives in golden vessels.

Offset by sapphire satin napkins, place settings of elegant china with gold rims and patterns and bullion chargers were paired with gilded flatware. Double Old-Fashioned glasses with modern gilt swirls, as well as wine glasses with rosy stems and bowls, were on hand for the libations at the celebration. A couple of treats awaited attendees when they took their seats in chic Infinity chairs with polished bullion backs and ivory cushions: a cupcake in a gold foil cup topped with frosting, artistic scalloped circles, and petite sugar flowers, and a cake pop sprinkled with gilded sugar. Additional treats were displayed on an Art Deco dessert cart, including a pastel blue cake embellished with golden ropes and sugar anemones with navy centers on a crystal cake plate.

Ultimately, all the elements harmoniously created a timeless aesthetic. “Together by the sea is a beautiful place to be” was gracefully handwritten on a cut-out, which was showcased on place settings to capture the scenic location as well as the sentiment of joyful gatherings. So as you plan your big day, be aware of how your venue and details that catch your eye can inspire the look of your celebration. Bluebell 4

As originally featured on Inside Weddings:

This feminine tablescape, titled “Afternoon Tea with Lady Charlotte in the Grounds of Bluebell Castle,” was inspired by wedding event designer Charley Izabella King’s upbringing in England, her love for Downton Abbey, and her father. “We wanted to do something with the name ‘Bluebell’ because it’s the [nick]name my father gave me. Whenever anyone says ‘Bluebell,’ I think of my dad. He passed away and I wanted to make an afternoon tea tribute to him,” shares Charley of Bluebell Events.

To create the look of an elegant high tea, Charley covered a round bistro table with Luxe Linen’s “Lismore Garden Mineral” floral linen. “[The exquisite fabric] spoke to me because I’m British and I’m homesick at the moment,” she admits. “I’m totally in love with Downton Abbey, so when I saw this linen, I had to [use it] because it reminds me of home.” The table was placed beneath an arch constructed of greenery, to bring the look of the outdoors in, and bedecked with cherry blossom branches and a crystal chandelier.

A large urn centerpiece covered with fresh moss and topped with blush roses, pink tulips, lilacs, and cherry blossom branches decorated the table. An assortment of teacups and teapots showcasing ladylike flowery designs were filled with vibrant peach and lavender blooms and placed around the towering arrangement. Each place setting featured stacked botanic-print china in light blue and golden hues from Dish Wish adorned with hemstitched napkins, lace, and fresh flowers.

Since guests of English afternoon teas are traditionally served small sandwiches and sponge cakes, The Butter End Cakery created Victorian sponge cakes for the shoot because “they are very British,” smiles Charley. The decadent confections were topped with fresh strawberries, blackberries, and lovely ivory anemones with violet centers. Menus featuring a bluebell motif were nestled into white hemstitched linen napkins wrapped with delicate lace or coral table napkins fastened with florals. Name cards featured the same bluebell design, as an ode to Charley’s late father.

Brides and grooms who love this look for a bridal shower or post-wedding afternoon tea can create a similar design by pairing vintage-style flower prints with sophisticated china decorated with a complementing motif. Welcome guests to your sweet soirée with a large framed mirror featuring event details written in elegant calligraphy. Bistro chairs can become a decoration element in and of themselves when embellished with moss and topped with classy large-brimmed hats as wedding favors. By bringing in lush blooms, topiaries, hedges, and cherry blossom branches, it’s possible to achieve a garden ambience, even in a ballroom setting. “I wanted to bring the [outdoors] in,” explains Charley of the beautifully feminine floral theme, “and make it feel like a fantasy English secret garden.”
