We were thrilled to be involved with fashion blogger Chriselle Lim’s blush birthday celebration for her daughter! Her 100th day celebration was originally featured on Love Luxe Life found HERE and also on The Chriselle Factor found HERE.
“Fashion Blogger Chriselle Lim of the Chriselle Factor celebrated with close family and friends her daughter’s 100thday! She shares with readers the history behind this long Korean tradition. “In Korean culture, the 100th day after a child’s birth is a significant milestone. Unfortunately it was common back in the day for babies to pass away due to sickness and poor living conditions, so the 100th day is celebrated for having survived this difficult period. It’s also a celebration of the parents who survived the first 100 days since it is known to be the most difficult of times (it sure was!). There are many traditional customs that are practiced on this day such as eating red bean cakes for good luck, and of course, to dress the baby in a hanbok (traditional Korean gown).
Chriselle enlisted floral artist Shawna Yamamoto Event Design who was also a part of Chriselle’s wedding and baby shower. “100 Blooms for 100 Days” was the inspiration behind this celebration. Spring flowers, viburnum, ivory spray roses, white tulips and peach garden roses adorned the tables and delicate gold and silver mercury bottles were peppered in amongst the floral centerpieces. We can’t take our eyes off the glitter 3D letters- Chloe Victoria and paper flowers surrounding it. The water color accent on the cake was a perfect match to the invitations. Chriselle not only loves hosting parties but also loves pampering her friends. She had The Nail Truck, a mobile nail salon in a truck, come give manicures and pedicures to all her friends. Although Baby Chloe may not remember this special day but will look back at the beautiful images by Jana Williams and know she is deeply loved by her parents Chriselle and Allen!”
