From the photographer, Jenna Rose:
When I approached wedding planner Deanna Nash with the idea to collaborate on a garden-inspired inspirational wedding shoot, it was an instant “yes!” and we were off and running with ideas. We knew we wanted to showcase garden elements in a fresh, modern color palette loaded with tons of texture, as well as incorporate details that were more mid-century mod in look and feel, but shown in a traditional wedding framework.
With the event space serving as a somewhat neutral background, we were inspired to go bold with the color palette. With overarching olive trees, pea gravel, and a flourishing flower and vegetable garden (from which the restaurant sources for their dishes), the garden was the perfect setting for all of our details. The gorgeous floral installation by Gabriela Turney of Bridezilla Events was a combination of traditional florals with a modern, organic aesthetic and was perfect for the shoot. The colors sang against the golden backdrop of the linen from Luxe Linen.
The table design was a play of modern and traditional elements. The vibrant place settings provided modern colors and texture, and the matte black flatware and grid patterned chairs (provided by the venue!) were the grounding elements that allowed the other colorful elements to pop. Classically calligraphied menus and table numbers by Linn Fritts of Linnterest provided the punch of traditional style that rounded out our inspiration for the shoot.
When we were searching for a wedding gown to embody the garden feel with plenty of texture, we immediately fell in love with the Calypso dress from designer Katherine Tash. The details were stunning, bold and perfectly embodied our inspiration. The bold blue color of the groom’s Stitch and Tie tux repeated colors from our tabletop selections, and was the exclamation point on a day of creative inspiration and fun.
