We are thrilled to see this gorgeous tabletop from our LUXE Launch 2017 featured in Grace Ormonde. Click HERE to see the feature. We have an exclusive Q&A with Colette Lopez and Kaitlin Lopez of La Fete Weddings. See more below:

Luxe Linen: What was your inspiration behind your design?

La Fete Weddings: We wanted our table to reflect the natural beauty of Santa Barbara both in color and architecture, the place where we call home. We wanted to bring a piece of that effortless elegance down to the heart of Los Angeles. We were also inspired by all of the beautiful fresh spring flowers that are currently in season and wanted to showcase them at their fullest potential. We decided to add a soft blue (Dawn Amalfi) linen underneath our overlay to add a subtle pop of color & then introduced all the flowers in soft sunset shades.

LL: Can you tell us about your design collaboration and process with your team?

LFW: Once we had decided on our theme, we began searching for the elements we wanted to incorporate.  On the tabletop we introduced textures that reminded us of Montecito, such as terra cotta pottery, glossy white ceramics and copper/rose gold touches. Then, we went searching for an element that would make our table design feel as if it were under a large trellis on an estate.  Revelry Event Designers provided the perfect wood beam structure that was not only gorgeous but very large & stately.  They also provided beautiful custom painted stucco walls for our backdrop to add color & texture, which made it  appear like the structure was against an old Spanish or Mediterranean style estate. The light fixtures and chairs from Revelry added the final touches to create an intimate dinner party theme.

LL: What was the most unexpected element that you added?

LFW:  We loved all the layers of textures & how beautifully it all came together. From the gorgeous linen we were given, to the geometric copper chargers, and the macrame coasters stacked on top of the plates.  We also added layers of sisal rugs which lightened up the space and added to overall design. When stumbled upon the enormous wooden cabana while walking through Revelry’s warehouse, we immediately fell in love. We wanted a wow factor that would stop people in their tracks & this structure allowed us to accomplish that. We decided to drape it in a soft dusty peach chiffon & then Revelry created custom “stucco” wall panels to present the feeling of being outside of an old tuscan styled estate.

LL: What is your favorite part of the tabletop?

LFW: Our favorite part of the design was definitely Camellia Floral Designs flower arrangements. She always creates a stunning masterpiece with her arrangements & we were truly blown away by the focal florals that she added to the cabana.

LL: How did being given a linen impact your process?

LFW:  We really feel that we were given one of the most gorgeous linens in the collection, so it was a joy to work with the linen that was selected for us! We were very excited when we first saw it and knew that we wanted to stray away from what would have been expected with that linen- we wanted to punch it up with color and give it a Spanish Santa Barbara flair.

LL: How did Vibiana as a space impact your design?

LFW: In our opinion, Vibiana is the perfect venue for this showcase. Not only is in the heart of the city- but the inside is a perfect blank slate to design in. You could put any style inside that space and with the right decor & lighting it is completely transformed. We were able to load in & strike within their guidelines and opted for battery operated candles to abide by their rules and were happy with the overall results.
