We are thrilled to see this gorgeous tabletop from our LUXE Launch 2017 featured in Grace Ormonde. Click HERE to see the feature. We have an exclusive Q&A with Colette Lopez and Kaitlin Lopez of La Fete Weddings. See more below:

Luxe Linen: What was your inspiration behind your design?

La Fete Weddings: We wanted our table to reflect the natural beauty of Santa Barbara both in color and architecture, the place where we call home. We wanted to bring a piece of that effortless elegance down to the heart of Los Angeles. We were also inspired by all of the beautiful fresh spring flowers that are currently in season and wanted to showcase them at their fullest potential. We decided to add a soft blue (Dawn Amalfi) linen underneath our overlay to add a subtle pop of color & then introduced all the flowers in soft sunset shades.

LL: Can you tell us about your design collaboration and process with your team?

LFW: Once we had decided on our theme, we began searching for the elements we wanted to incorporate.  On the tabletop we introduced textures that reminded us of Montecito, such as terra cotta pottery, glossy white ceramics and copper/rose gold touches. Then, we went searching for an element that would make our table design feel as if it were under a large trellis on an estate.  Revelry Event Designers provided the perfect wood beam structure that was not only gorgeous but very large & stately.  They also provided beautiful custom painted stucco walls for our backdrop to add color & texture, which made it  appear like the structure was against an old Spanish or Mediterranean style estate. The light fixtures and chairs from Revelry added the final touches to create an intimate dinner party theme.

LL: What was the most unexpected element that you added?

LFW:  We loved all the layers of textures & how beautifully it all came together. From the gorgeous linen we were given, to the geometric copper chargers, and the macrame coasters stacked on top of the plates.  We also added layers of sisal rugs which lightened up the space and added to overall design. When stumbled upon the enormous wooden cabana while walking through Revelry’s warehouse, we immediately fell in love. We wanted a wow factor that would stop people in their tracks & this structure allowed us to accomplish that. We decided to drape it in a soft dusty peach chiffon & then Revelry created custom “stucco” wall panels to present the feeling of being outside of an old tuscan styled estate.

LL: What is your favorite part of the tabletop?

LFW: Our favorite part of the design was definitely Camellia Floral Designs flower arrangements. She always creates a stunning masterpiece with her arrangements & we were truly blown away by the focal florals that she added to the cabana.

LL: How did being given a linen impact your process?

LFW:  We really feel that we were given one of the most gorgeous linens in the collection, so it was a joy to work with the linen that was selected for us! We were very excited when we first saw it and knew that we wanted to stray away from what would have been expected with that linen- we wanted to punch it up with color and give it a Spanish Santa Barbara flair.

LL: How did Vibiana as a space impact your design?

LFW: In our opinion, Vibiana is the perfect venue for this showcase. Not only is in the heart of the city- but the inside is a perfect blank slate to design in. You could put any style inside that space and with the right decor & lighting it is completely transformed. We were able to load in & strike within their guidelines and opted for battery operated candles to abide by their rules and were happy with the overall results.

This soft and romantic Luxe Launch tabletop is featured in the latest issue of Novelty Bride Magazine. We have an exclusive interview with floral designer, Jennifer Cole of Jennifer Cole Florals.

crown-weddings-jennifer-cole-florals-luxe-launch-brian-leahy-photography46

1) What was your inspiration behind your design?

JC: I wanted to do something different, and give the effect of the floral spilling from the chandelier onto the tabletop and onto the floor, with the cream and golden yellow of the floral, representing light.

2) Can you tell us about your design collaboration and process with your team?

JC: This collaboration with Luxe and the rental and glassware/ china company was such a pleasure. We had such freedom to choose whatever rental items we wanted! So fun! Crown weddings helped pull it all together!

3) What was the most unexpected element that you added?

JC: We added the amber chairs, because they were clear but still had the element of warmth and light…to go with our concept.

4) What is your favorite part of the tabletop?

JC: The flowers spilling from the floral tower onto the floor, and yellow. No one uses yellow. A Highly underrated color!

5) Is it exactly what you envisioned out to begin with?

JC: Design always changes a bit, that’s the freedom of not having a client to answer to. the strung orchids on the ceiling were a last minute change because you couldn’t see them from the backdrop…

6) How did being given a linen impact your process?

JC: The linen is fun to try to design around, and a challenge as well. It makes you think.

7) What is the reaction to the new LUXE Linen line?

JC: Gorgeous as always!!!

8) How did Vibiana as a space impact your design?

JC: Those ceilings and the lighting there were a huge bonus! You have to be dramatic in that space, or you would just be lost!

This Luxe Launch tabletop, titled “Modern Masterpiece”, was created by A Good Affair with floral design by Nisie’s Enchanted. A Good Affair wanted to create a marble wall with living arrangements on it as the focal point of the design. Using a 2017 trending color palette of greys, lavenders, purples, and greens they created a romantic design that perfectly complemented the rose gold sequin linen.

The team used our Paisley Nude Linen as an overlay with our Champagne Iridescence Linen as an underlay. They were perfectly paired with our Blush Iridescence napkins.

The LUXE launch is one of the wedding and event industry’s most anticipated events, serving as a trendsetting and networking function for top planners and designers. Now in its fourth year, The LUXE Launch is a tabletop showcase featuring the company’s latest linen collection. Each designer pairs up with a florist of their choice to create any tabletop and theme they dream up. This year, we interviewed Bottega Louie – a luxury pastry and design house that created a gorgeous spread of macarons and sweets for the occasion.

LUXE Linen: What was the inspiration behind your design?
Bottega Louie: We were inspired by airy, simplistic spaces decorated with tropical plants. We wanted graphic lines and clearly defined negative space to allow our pastries to shine.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: Can you tell us about your design collaboration and process with your team?
Bottega Louie: We started with a mood board and inspiration images of floral arrangements. Once we narrowed down the look, we enlisted Leslie from Rebelle Fleur to develop the florals. We had an in-person meeting with her to discuss the shapes, containers, color palette, and flower species. After the centerpiece design was set, we regrouped to brainstorm how to echo the floral color palette throughout our pastries. We selected specific macaron hues to reflect the tropical species and pastries that would complement rather than distract.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: What was the most unexpected element that you added?
Bottega Louie: The floral arrangements were the most unexpected element of our table, because we typically use a very different style of arrangements with our pastry tables.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: What is your favorite part of the tabletop?
Bottega Louie: Our favorite part was absolutely the floral arrangements. They added the graphic touch we needed to frame our pastries.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: How did being given a linen impact your process?
Bottega Louie: The linen we were provided with was selected to be within our brand colors, so our pastries could be the main focus of the table. Cindy chose a white linen for us with a lovely pleated texture that added dimension to our table.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: What is your reaction to the new LUXE Linen line?
Bottega Louie: The new LUXE Linen line is a vibrant addition to the collection, and it truly showcases the personality of the company. Planners, designers, and brides will easily be able to select a linen from this line that will elevate their event.

luxe linen, luxe launch, bottega louie, dessert

LUXE Linen: How did Vibiana as a space impact your design?
Bottega Louie: Vibiana provided a beautiful backdrop for all the tables. The architectural details and dramatic ceilings added an elevated atmosphere for each table to shine within. While our design was not influenced by the space, we certainly feel that the venue heightened the experience of the event.

“Certain design concepts have the ability to transport us to another time and place – they evoke in us a sense of wonder that allows us to leave our current setting and take on an entirely new identity. When Alexandra Rembac of Sterling Engagements began to go about creating a concept for a wedding tablescape for Luxe Linen’s 2016 launch party, she was immediately struck by one of the line’s newest additions. “Our inspiration for the table began with our linen, Circle Dance,” says Alexandra. “I loved the pattern and the metal sheen layered on it. The circles and the design within them, to me, felt very Greek or Moroccan, and immediately whisked me off to the Mediterranean Coast.” With such a clean, crisp space to work with, Alexandra decided to stretch her creativity to create an artful design fit for an offbeat couple. After selecting a large pair of painted angel wings to hang over the tablescape, Alexandra and her team came up with the title “Dancing Angels along the Mediterranean” for their concept.”

“Inspired by the breathtaking Teal Glam Damask linen by Luxe LinenModern LA Weddings and Lotus & Lily created a one-of-a-kind tablescape for this year’s Luxe Launch party. The design boasts a bold 14-foot peacock centerpiece combining flower petals and white feathers flanked with impressive mirrored screens standing as the table’s backdrop. “The palm tree like pattern reminded us of 1930’s Indochina and the turquoise color reminded us of a peacock,” says Nam Lam of Modern LA Weddings. Light floral elements work perfectly with the stunning metallic decor, including Gold Metal Venice Benches from Revelry Event Design. Both silver and gold compliment each other in the lovely place settings that highlight Custard Va Va Voom napkins from Luxe Linen accessorized with a vibrant peacock feather. Chopsticks, vibrant floral china and custom placecards completed this unique and refreshing design.”

We are happy to see this gorgeous tabletop from our Luxe Launch 2016 featured on California Wedding Day. Click HERE to see the full feature.

Inspired by the Hacienda Encantada resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, the designers from First Pick Planning and Peony and Plum perfectly captured tropical vibes and bright colors in a chic design for this year’s Luxe Launch party hosted by Luxe Linen. “We were very passionate and excited to incorporate bold colors and be playful with the design,” says Jen Bergmark of First Pick Planning. The “Teal Dupionique” underlay and sheer, white “Simone” linen overlay from Luxe Linen complimented each other beautifully and set the scene for the whole design. Bright, summer-toned floral arragements by Peony and Plum popped against the metallic gold accents in the decor. Exquisite china from Dish Wish Events was elegantly paired with handmade teal placecards to create lovely place settings topped off with a bold, pink Ranunculus to tie everything together. “We set the table as if it was a table in someone’s home, a real Hacienda,” says Bergmark. And they did just that, we absolutely love this design!

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club10

There wasn’t a better team than Sterling Engagements and Shawna Yamamoto Event Design to come together to create “1920’s Vintage Seaside Romance.” They brought in a team vendors to not only create a tabletop design for our Luxe Launch LA held at Bel-Air Bay Club, but designed an entire room. Draping, lounging, and rentals were provided by Revelry Event Design, with other rentals provided by A Rental Connection. An ice luge created by Ice Bulb was the perfect addition to the seaside theme. Beautiful stationery from Prim and Pixie sat upon chinaware from Dish Wish.  The team used our Monaco Ivory & Gold Linen with our VA VA Voom Biscuit Linen as an underlay, and our Va Va Voom Marine Napkins to complete their gorgeous design. Thank you Krista Mason Photography for the images!

We have an exclusive interview with the women of the design, conducted by Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events. See below for the full interview and photos.

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club11

Where did you first conceptualize this piece? Of course the linen is driving this, but did you have a design idea before you came into this?

No, not even a little bit. The linen and the Bel-Air Bay Club were actually the driving forces. The Bel-Air Bay Club was actually built from 1927-1928, and so we were inspired to take the linen, and to a certain extent, dial it back to that period of time and work by the seaside and work with a romantic element and tie it all together and work with the golden threads you see in the linen to help us do that.

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club3

How did you decide to go with this table design with so much sophistication and romance instead of Spanish lines to which this property was developed on? It’s unexpected and it goes together beautifully.

We wanted to make sure we designed something that still stands up to what today’s design standards are and be able to embrace the vintage elements, but at the same time add that current spin to it. I don’t think we ever do anything that is just all modern or all vintage. We usually do some type of this cohesive sense of both. I naturally don’t know if I’m capable to do one or the other because I automatically try to fuse things in because I want it to survive and be timeless and not be from one era. The thought behind it was to specifically have elements from both so that it would appear effortless, but you would see different accents of each time period.

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club4

Did you know going in what florals you wanted to work with?

We had multiple conversations about it and I wanted to really bring in the essence of romance. You don’t know what is going to exist and what it’s going to look like until you get to the market. We talked about a certain type of flow that we wanted, but ultimately the only thing that I asked for was the anemones. The tulips are huge to bring in the romance.

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club7

Did you have vision of the guest that would be sitting at this table?

Well the guest that would be at the very end of this table is Alfonso Bell, who actually created the Bel-Air Bay Club. If you continue down the table, you will look at different pioneers and socialites within both the Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica history from that time period like the Talmadge Sisters. All of the seashells have different names.

Luxe_Linen_Launch_Sterling_Engagements_Shawna_Yamamoto_Bel_Air_Bay_Club6

Well it’s beautiful and it sounds like you really did your research. In the design aspect, were you relying on imagery or just history? Did you pull images that you really responded to when you started designing this?

I actually didn’t look at a single image. I had images in my head, but it was more envisioning myself at a table, thinking of the time period and how I see the table, and how it would lay out. WIth florals, it was a combination of us talking it out. I was getting inspired by more of where we were, the location, who would be at the table, and letting that take over. There wasn’t a single image we looked at.

What was your inspiration?

Our inspiration was the Houndstooth linen and from there it took to a Ralph Lauren  sophisticated penthouse feel.

Tell us about the flowers.

We wanted to keep the flowers simple, classic and elegant. Ralph Lauren is known for using a lot of hydrangeas and garden roses, lilies. It is kept very glam but very compact

Tell us about the table details.

The candlesticks are submerged in gravel and were inspired by the open flame policy. We picked out the tall clear glass cylinders. The gold pillars were found at a local flea market. The urn that the flowers are in was actually imported from Italy. It is a copper based container because we wanted to go with an opulent, regal, gold look. The gold accents and the trim on the chargers gave it that regal sophistication. The mix and match of the china crystal and silver. Classic Party Rentals did our china. Revelry provided our chairs. Our stationery was from Li’K Designs.
